Linux Modding?

Hello, I'm new to Warzone 2100. I downloaded it about a week ago on recommendation from a friend.
I would like to play around with mods (custom vehicles, weapons, buildings, etc.).
I would also like to make a map or two.
My problems are that I can't find any documentation for the slo/vlo files and that I don't know of a map editor that runs in Linux (I tried in Wine and it complained).
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks.

EDIT:
Also I read somewhere about PIE models. I see that Blender can't export to PIE. Does the 3ds2pie utility work in Linux? Where can I get it? The link in the wiki takes me to a page containing the text 'Default'.
Never mind. I did an svn checkout of the tools section.

The 32-bit version of EditWorld does run under Wine. I am sure someone will be able to post a link to it. However, you will need to grab yourself a copy of the MFC dll (mfc42.dll if I recall). This can be found from one of a number of websites.

Oooh. OK, thanks.
Would the 32-bit EditWorld be the same as that in the sticky?
I'll try that one now.
EDIT:
I got mfc71.dll (that's what EditWorld complained about), and then I also got msvcp71.dll, and then...
wine: Call from 0x7ee09cb0 to unimplemented function msvcr71.dll.___unguarded_readlc_active_add_func, aborting
err:module:attach_process_dlls "MSVCP71.dll" failed to initialize, aborting
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\BetaWorldEdit\\editworld32.exe" failed, status 80000100
EDIT2:
(So much editting with me...)
I have been informed in IRC that EditWorld is being ported to wxWidgets, and that when (if) it's finished there will likely be a Linux port.
In this case I shall stick to the current maps and I'll take a look at adding buildings and weapons.
Thanks everyone!

I was getting this error until I picked up a different msvcr71.dll from another source. Might be worth a shot in the mean time.

I am unsure of the status of the wxWidgets port. As far as I am aware the landscape currently looks like this:
  • Giel is working on porting EditWorld to wxWidgets, however, his time is limited and so progress has been slow as of late.
  • Per was looking into the possibility of an in-game map editor. How far this has progressed I am unsure.
  • Devurandom & myself have been stubbing out an application known as Warzone Studio which is an all-in-one moddig solution.
