Graphics request: Warzone 2100 logo

Hello!
I would like to get a
scalable Warzone 2100 logo, like in the upper left corner of
backdrop 6.
Cathuria made the image, so maybe you already have a scalable version of that?
In which way it is scalable is currently not very important. A rendering scene (3ds, blender, whatever) which I can render at any desired resolution, an SVG image, all works. Though an SVG would be prefered.
Thanks in advance!

No, I wanted that logo there. It is simple and still nice. Yours, while looking very nice (which is why we have it in the game), does not fit the intended (and still secret

) purpose, I think.
PS: I forgot something: I would like to get some "Ressurrection" paint straight over the text. Similar to the attached file. I currently imagine something like electric lightning *crisling* around it.

That will be near impossible to make scaleable.
It looks like it was originally made in Photoshop (the fill of the text is a texture).
Regards, Freddie.

it's possible to add a bitmap as pattern/texture to svg

PPS: It doesn't need to look exactly like that. That's just what I had in general mind. "Warzone 2100" + "Ressurrection" in a look in that rough direction.

One possible aproach would be to model the "logo" in blender 3d (or some other 3d modelling program, but blender is preferable since it's
FOSS) and use some procedural textures (textures generated from various fractals and other patterns) and then just zoom and render the image att the required size. This is severe overkill though.
Is manually vectorising the logo in the first post allowed or would that be considered to steal someone elses work?

We already ship the logo as part of a CC licensed image, so there cannot be any more damage done, I think.

And afaik it was also somewhere in the original sources.
So I think it can be done.
I was already trying to get it done in Blender (could then also be used for the menu, for example), but failed at simple things like aligning the camera and the quad containing the template texture (part of cathurias work) to the grid. Fiddled a lot with that, till I gave up.
It was (without an aligned camera/template) rather difficult to me (blender newb) to get the modeled shape look correctly in the render, so for now I stalled it completely.
More uses for this logo:
- Video sequences (whenever they are redone...)
- Icons
- ...

Is that a yes for manual remaking of it in another format?
BTW, do you still have the .blend-file from that attempt (tracing the outline is the main time-eater)?

"in another format"?
Using a 3D renderer was in my initial idea-bucket already:

So if you want to do it using a 3D renderer: Please do.
I don't think I saved the result, since what I did really looked like crap, and the way I did it very much just by measuring with the eye, and rather unprofessional. I doubt it would be useful to you.

Here is an initial draft, is it on the right track?

Nice, even if it is just a draft!

Looks definitely on the right track.
I think it could be a bit darker (borders, too) and "rougher".
And don't forget the thin (unlike the attached old sample, the "GPL" is a bit too huge font) "Ressurrection" label, with electric lightning *crisling* around it, in front of the text.

Should both the "metal" outline and the "fire" filling get rougher or just the filling?
How do you want the label coloured?
As for the lightning, it might be a bit hard to do.
EDIT: Some further tweaking can be seen
here, as you can see the resurrection label is quite hard to read but I'm not sure what colour to make it.

I thought "rough" like the logo I posted.
It looks to me as if it shows metal blocks representing letters, with rust on top. (If I see that correctly.)
I would have simply put the "Resurrection" in red colour (but your blue does look good, too) straight over the "Warzone 2100".
Imagine this:
The "Warzone 2100" metal letter blocks lie there on the ground.
I have a "Resurrection" formed conductor/wire attached to a high voltage energy source.
Now I hold that "defibrilator" over the rusty metal letters to "revive" it. The lightning jumps from the conductor into the letters and perhaps makes them glow a tiny little bit. -> Warzone was revived.
