I'll try that, would you know if there is anyone else working on the Swedish translation I should check things with?Buginator wrote:AFAIK, you edit the .po files in trunk or the 2.1 branch. Though I'm not sure what swedish word would fit best for the skirmish mode, it would seem to be translated to the word "Skärmytsling", but I don't think that's a common enough word in the swedish language (I haven't heard it used in anything but a 100 year old history books, the article on swedish wikipedia cites an encyclopedia printed in 1904-1926 as source) to be understood by the average swedish gamer.
You use a utility like http://www.poedit.net/ or something like that.
Then, you log into http://developer.wz2100.net/ create a new ticket, and attach the edited .po file, and someone should commit it sooner or later.

Nope, I am afraid not.fisk0 wrote: I'll try that, would you know if there is anyone else working on the Swedish translation I should check things with?
I guess I can make a new sticky topic for this...would make sense to keep it all in one area.
Re: Suggestions, Corrections and so on
The Word "Einzelgefecht" is just a Combination of two Words and doesn't really exist.cybersphinx wrote: I'd use "Einzelgefecht" there, since just "Gefecht" doesn't make that much sense IMO.
I know, the "Einzel" means you, one single Human, but i find it sounds like you're fighting alone and can't team up with the AI, or you're fighting yourself or only against one Enemy.
Know any other Word? How about "Schlacht"? What's the Word at other Games for a SinglePlayer-Battle vs Computer?
Maybe, we should create a Vote for the german People
Don't know, if much Germans are here though..

Hm, I meant a single battle as opposed to the campaign, not a battle as a solitary force.Zi-Chan wrote:The Word "Einzelgefecht" is just a Combination of two Words and doesn't really exist.Or am i wrong?
Google only finds a few Games, where this Word is being used.
I know, the "Einzel" means you, one single Human, but i find it sounds like you're fighting alone and can't team up with the AI, or you're fighting yourself or only against one Enemy. It's better than "Gefecht" though, but the best Word? Mhh..
"Schlacht" has the same problem as "Gefecht", just standing alone it is somewhat insufficient IMO. I'm not that much of a gamer, so I don't know what words those use. And translation issues like these are why I prefer the original when possible.Know any other Word? How about "Schlacht"? What's the Word at other Games for a SinglePlayer-Battle vs Computer?
Well, there's http://board.warzone2100.de/, there might be more people able to help, and know how other games translate things.Maybe, we should create a Vote for the german PeopleThere we/they can vote, which Word they want.
Don't know, if much Germans are here though..
Re: *Real* nightly builds!
Never noticed that german Board - shame on me (?)
How about just "Einzelspieler-Gefecht"? I would be fine with that. "Schlacht" and "Gefecht" were too short.

Re: *Real* nightly builds!
Would it cause too much trouble to have nightly builds of the branch, or is it better to just have the betas?
Re: *Real* nightly builds!
The texture rectangle extension is no longer required for the minimap. I just changed it.Zi-Chan wrote:supporting the Texture Rectangle Extension?
Re: *Real* nightly builds!
I think it would be better to have nightly builds of both trunk & branch... but that does double up the space.skellr wrote:Would it cause too much trouble to have nightly builds of the branch, or is it better to just have the betas?
Beta 4 is too old IMO.
Re: *Real* nightly builds!
Upload it to Gna! Not our space. (I believe when DevUrandom asked they said that space/bandwidth was not an issue.)Buginator wrote:I think it would be better to have nightly builds of both trunk & branch... but that does double up the space.skellr wrote:Would it cause too much trouble to have nightly builds of the branch, or is it better to just have the betas?

Re: *Real* nightly builds!
I think that's more of an argument for Beta 5 than for nightlies of 2.1 branch.Buginator wrote:I think it would be better to have nightly builds of both trunk & branch... but that does double up the space.skellr wrote:Would it cause too much trouble to have nightly builds of the branch, or is it better to just have the betas?

When your standard reply to a given bug report is "it's fixed in trunk", that's a good time release the next [alpha|beta|release].
Re: *Real* nightly builds!
The current 'blocker' for beta-5 is backporting the multi-threaded path finding patch (https://gna.org/patch/?1064 ). This should drastically improve the speed of path finding. (Which is slightly worse on lower-end systems as a result of the removal of zones in either beta-3 or beta-4.)Zarel wrote: I think that's more of an argument for Beta 5 than for nightlies of 2.1 branch.

Just encountered this while surfing; we use NSIS to create the installers, apparently it's known for quite some AntiVirus software to trip over NSIS and cause false positives. See this list of NSIS false positives for example.ouch wrote:I got a virus warning while installing 5215.
not sure if it's a false positive, but thought I better throw it out there.
Re: *Real* nightly builds!
Well I ran r6072 last night and I have to say it's looking pretty good. The only problems I ran across was that I couldn't add more than one AI. (I tried for 4 on the map I played, but only 1 decided to show up) and you somehow broke the shift click movement queue.
oh, and the units for some reason sometimes decide to do a complete circle before moveing... Mostly happend with the trucks, but I was ordering them around more.

Yeah, the bug that makes the whole GUI hang for a minute when you try to shift click is really annoying.ouch wrote:Well I ran r6072 last night and I have to say it's looking pretty good. That thing about units moving around in circles I thought was only because I played on the Archipelago map which I thought was just messing up pathfinding (every island is a hill and I only noticed the circling with hover trucks when they were ordered to move from one island to another), but apparently it appears on other maps as well?
I managed to play with more than one AI though (but that wa in r6070 when I think of it).

Re: *Real* nightly builds!
yeah, it was pretty late so maybe I moved he ai sliders a notch too far to the left or something because I played last night and they all showed up.
the other issues still remain however.
but no crashes so far at least...
