Multi turrets will be good for very large vehicles, like the real-life AC-130 heavy gunships or those german drawing-board ultra heavy tanks with naval turrets (can't remember the name). It makes sense for weapons like these to have more than one turret wielding the same class of weapon. They will just be able to deliver more firepower at certain angles, like from the front or the sides.
I think Warzone should differentiate between primary and secondary weapons. For example a tank with a cannon as its primary weapon, but also a short range rapid-fire secondary weapon for dealing with cyborgs. (cf. mammoth tank in C&C.)
But the mammoth tank also has two 120mm cannons, in addition to the tusk missiles. The difference is, all of its weapons are mounted to one turret, so that it can bring all of its weapons to bear in any direction around it.

So perhaps you should be able to mount two or more weapons on one turret, making choices like one heavy cannon and one heavy machine gun, two heavy cannons or one howitzer and one assault gun. Perhaps the number of weapons you could mount on the turret area would depend on the size of the chassis you picked- 1 weapon for light bodies, 2 weapons for medium bodies and 4 weapons for heavy bodies. Super heavy bodies could then field two turrets with 4 weapons a piece.

* The AC- 130 Gunship is a good example & quite impressive...

* This is an excellent site to check it out as well as a plethora of other aircraft.

* But this also raises another interesting point.

* First let's dispense with the "Multi-Turret" nomenclature for a sec & instead use Multi-Weapon Platform

* K... in RL most Military Aircraft ARE "Multi-Weapon" platforms, from Fighters to Bombers.

* In WZ all aircraft are "Mono-Weapon"...

* I believe the concept of "Turrets" itself needs some reconceptualization.

* For example - Vtol bombers...why not have missles as well as bombs ?

* I think that goes to the heart of what's the real imepidiment here.

Well, i can see a revival of the tank transporter transport (Huge rotary pulse laser thing) with these multiple turrets, still have a huge, lumbering transport, but put 4 assault MGs or 2 Assault MGs and a rotary cannon on it, and you have a vehicle strong enough to clear an LZ, yet not so much that it can devestate an enemy base.

That said, i would love to see a 'flying battleship' in WZ, along the lines of Dale Brown's EB-52 Megafortress, or an AC-130, made from a large transport aircraft....

==

BTW, secondary weaps = point in same direction as primary = probably more balanced, some examples include:
*Coaxial Assault gun or MG
*Slow reloading AT or AA rocket/missile
*Sensor turret (rotating, of course)
*COMMAND TURRET!!!! (So we can finally make fighting commanders)

i still believe having a uber-land-battleship is a cool idea for WZ, even if it just a (very) slowly moving fortress. Just think of the mobile walls in Metal Fatigue (Base defences that can move about VERY slowly, good for expanding your bases protected area)

Well thats my 2 cents, say what you will

Everywhere I read that there can be 3 weapons selected on medium and heavy bodies. I have found where I can select the 2nd weapon. How can I select the 3rd one?

If you press lctrl+alt+f1+f10+f3+f12+f2+esc+pause+tab+rctrl+numpad * + numlock + f7 + del + numpad . , and press and hold down the power switch all at the same time, you will get a special bonus!  ;D

The issue with multi-turrets is it looks from ok to yuck really fast, since the units were not really designed for some of these things, and it looks very bad.
