Is there any way that I can download and play WZ2100 on my PS3?

well, aparently you can put linux on ps3, so maybe through that...???
but that would still require someone to test on their own volition, and, at own risk.

both the ps2 and ps3 *run* linux natively, afaik (though it's not directly accessible). for the ps2, there was a linux developers kit you could buy to make it usable as a desktop-style comp, and perhaps they have something similar for the ps3.

I'd be interested in the results.

PS3 runs on a Cell processor, which is a PowerPC. Warzone 2100 should support this (with bugs) in 2.0 and fully (with network and all) in upcoming 2.1.

ah, yes, but only the primary processor is power-based. the 8 other ones are something else. nonetheless, the main proc should be more than enough for at least the cpu-bound stuff.

But there is no access to the GPU.
Warzone must run then with a software renderer (which doesn't exist anymore).

Or does the PS3-Linux-Driver support a software-mode OpenGL?

No idea whether there exists a Mesa implementation for the PS3.
But I thought Sony granted access to the hardware some while ago?
Or got it hacked by someone? Wasn't it some rather common chip with just a software barrier?

well... ps3 is compatible with all psx and ps2 games.
so, the psx version of wz should work on ps3.

It's just that I purchased the original for my PS and lost it.  I guess I feel that Sony owes me or something.  Can't you guys physically force Sony to offer it as a download at the Sony Store?

Well, I guess if you think threats would work better.  But I'd definately wave a pistol or something.

actually stating stuff like that is enuff to get you inprisoned for a long time... dunno what country your in but i suggest using different terms maybe...
