No, Zarel there really is a bug with this. I know I don't cheat and it has shown that message for me in MP games. I have also seen it as host now at least a dozen times. And I'm always playing with players that I've played with quite a few times who I'm fairly confident do not cheat. You can just tell by how the game progresses that they aren't cheating. It displays the messages for everyone in the game, except maybe the host. The screen scrolls by so fast that it's hard to see if the host is listed. (Viewing the message buffer by pressing the ` key doesn't always work because in a game with 6 players the message pretty much take up the whole buffer.) The issue is so bad that many people in multiplayer all pretty much know to ignore the message by now.Zarel wrote:That means that player is cheating. Any crashes caused by someone cheating is simply not our fault.DarkCheetah wrote:ok a reply to everything, I'm going to try the new exe soon, and the fake error, ingame it says "kicking player" but he isn't actually kicked, it says we have different game data, but we just started after installing, (every installation is in a different folder!! )
Congratulations, you've invented the Warzone equivalent to the car alarm!

I have done no such thing! If anything, it was Buggy. <_<
Regardless, for the next version, expect that message to be accompanied by actual kicking. Maybe that'll provoke you into actually trying to help us fix it. <_<

Is there any way to log all onscreen communications to a file?Zarel wrote:I have done no such thing! If anything, it was Buggy. <_<

Or, no one who wants to knows how.13KukYNexus666 wrote:Because no one wants to make a good one.DarkCheetah wrote:and why is the AI so weak?
"There is no greater Void than the one between your ears." - Void Ray, StarCraft 2.
Especially the Void between the ears of people who think that No VTOL is a good idea, and won't lead to arty wars. I've won one, and I have to say: I hated it.

Exactly that, both Per and DylanDog want to make a good AI, but they can't do it.Assault Gunner wrote:Or, no one who wants to knows how.
It requires lot of programming skills (I hope they do.) ,and sense for programming. That is hard to get.
And, they only do it in their free time.

if it was buggy then why not fix it?Zarel wrote:I have done no such thing! If anything, it was Buggy. <_<
you guys love to put new stuff or change old stuff in game but don't fix buggy code.
that is the problem.

"it was Buggy" = Buginator one of the devs ... i am sure he will get a laff out of this one... xD

Now for the ignorant here (namely me). How do I invoke the debug mode? From the release notes, it seems I can just type "debug" at the in-game console, correct?
It would be very helpful if the Development Page or Bug Reporting Page had a section on how to enable debug mode, how it affects the game, and what files it creates that people can submit along with their bug reports. Or does it just add more detailed content to stderr.txt & warzone2100.RPT?

No, I mean, it was the developer named "Buginator" who introduced that code.chron wrote:if it was buggy then why not fix it?

Pretty much all I do is fixing buggy code. Take a look for yourself: http://developer.wz2100.net/search?q=zarelsl
Which, I note, you've done none of, yourself.
To be exact, that's cheat mode. What kind of debug mode are you looking for?kenalcock wrote:Thanks.

If you need detailed information on the kick message, I added a popup box for that in beta 7. No need to do anything special.
Re: Please test the 2.3 beta releases!
If you folks have any kind of a debug mode, where the game logs more information that may be useful in submitted bug reports:
- How do we use it (step-by-step please)?
- What files does it generate that we can submit to you to help you troubleshoot any issues that we see and report?
