yeah i know the cyborg thing is way over the fence here... xD
Anyway, i was actually looking a the original gate model, the one that had the door and the control post on in, and if the gate could only have the gate part, that opens from below and all that.. that would make for a great expandable 1 tile gate that can be transformed into a long... very very long gate as needed.... i could build a hole fortress made of gates!!! cool.
Add something like mines outside of the fortress... and you have a fully open but closed base with some very very interesting defenses going on.
By the way, I know that this should be used like a mod but, if you guys make it good, working, and useful, i don't think that it would be much work for the dev to include such a feature... since it would be like copy/paste. If you actually get this thing working, I'm sure adding this mod to my game every time I play, you bet.!!!
Its like the idea of the ECM, if someone actually gets it working before the devs then what is stopping them from coping that out (if license permits of course), I also saw another great Idea from the Development section that i would likely add to a mod compilation
#686, since this are great ideas, would make the game more understandable for all players; one of the biggest flaws of this game is the lack of information of what is it doing by itself. O_O
Its like resources when you want to research an upgrade, i know that by looking at the upgrade pictures, you can get an "idea" of what the upgrade is going to be, but for a newb guy, why don't put like some stats box that says what is it going to do to your units? enhance armor by 10, simple, explicit, but no, we need to wait till it's finished, an then we have an explanation that says pretty much nothing.
