i agree, and i always wondered why users don't always do that when they're taking screen shots just for the sake of showing off the game -- save the game just before you want to take the screen shot, and set FSAA and FSAF to max (16x-32x for most modern cards). even if you're running at 1 fps, it doesn't matter, since you're not making a video.Hatsjoe wrote: Before going into a "screenshot making session" turn on your image enhancements in the video card control center!
also, take the screenshot at the resolution you want to present the image in (so don't take it at 1280x1024 and shrink it to 640x480 later -- set the game resolution to 640x480 in that case). widescreen is very good looking.
in the end, what i think would be awesome would be a screenshot button, and a quality screenshot button -- the second one would render the next frame (in software if necessary), with very high AA and AF and any other non-realtime-capable enhancements. of course, that operation could take several seconds, but it would be worth it.
