As far as I remember, someone searched for music to include in the first GPL releases 2005 and grabbed those tracks from Jamendo. They were not made specifically for the game, and had nothing to do with 1.11.

Is Jonathan's track2.ogg the one that's currently bundled with the game, or was that just temporary until the original music was open sourced?
