Both, but if I could only permanently rid Earth of one of them, then I'd get rid of tobacco products, since at least people aren't (usually) spraying alcoholic beverages into the air people breathe.

Difficult decision. Since GNOME 3, KDE has been vastly superior, but many GNOME utilities are still needed to make my XFCE desktop comfy, so I'm going to have to say KDE.
