I did say I would start on Thursday and today is the day but for me as I write this it's just 5:30 A.M.
I know there is a big difference in our time zones.
I'll be putting up the first StructTexPics Archives from work (where I'll be headed shortly) during my lunch break which will be about 6 hours from now.
I'll post here as each of the 3 uploads is completed. These will be the very first uploads of many in the coming days, weeks. I haven't stopped shooting & sorting since i got back from Lake Tahoe.

Sorry , Berg. No luck ULing.
First: I see no way for me to access the SF WZ Project Vault File Manager....
Second: Installed & set-up Delta Copy (gotta have that "Resume" functionality) .... but after repeated tries got the same message back - "Cannot connect to the SF Server".
At this point dunno what to make of it.
But I have run out of time to spend on this right now.
Have to get back to RL work.
Will review all I have done on my end when I get home tonight after work to make sure I have not over-looked or done something wrong.
So far, it's been more frustrating efforts trying to share the work than making the stuff itself to share.
I'm sure we'll get it sorted it out so that's not the case going forward.

Re: Photos for texture work & Sky Boxes ?
Hmm, with rsync, it should be: rsync -e ssh file.zip rman-virgil,[email protected]:/home/frs/project/w/wz/wz2100-vault/Textures/rman-virgilRman Virgil wrote:.

Then it will ask for the password, and that is your SF account password, not the key (if you made a key that is).
If that doesn't work, then, if possible, can you try to do: sftp rman-virgil,[email protected] then when it asks about the RSA key, reply with yes, then it will ask for your SF password.
That should work, and once that works, you can try the rsync utility again, and hopefully, the issue was the RSA key prompt.
Oh, and in order to accept the RSA key, that is where putty comes in, since that is the program that handles all the keys.
and it ends here.

Re: Photos for texture work & Sky Boxes ?
Actually, it looks like this program: http://filezilla-project.org/ *can* resume broken uploads (and is also windows friendly
)
Which means, that would be the easiest choice for you.
If all else fails, it is also possible to use 7zip and split the archive up using that, then use filezilla (or sftp or scp or ...) and do it that way.

Thanks for posting all that info Buggy.
Tried it all without success.
And - I still do not understand why I cannot see the File Manager function on the Vault page.
Anyway.... at the last I decided why not try my own FTP Client, "GetRight Pro" which I've owned for like 12 years and is one sweet piece of software. Connected without errors but I keep getting "Server Busy" - is that typical of SF ?
Guess I'll run it in my sleep and see what happens.

Re: Photos for texture work & Sky Boxes ?
If you can run a webserver on your system (or have access to a system that runs one), I can pull them to Sourceforge from that, they just need to be in a web-accessible location.
Edit: Actually it seems like you didn't have the correct permissions to upload files, I've changed that now.

Aha.. That explains my GetRight Pro logs - when the server wasn't busy and I actually made a connection, it would not accept my authenticity.cybersphinx wrote:

Well then I'll look to it when I get home from work (didn't bring my own LT with the archives to work with me today.)
Thanks for sorting this out cybersphinx - I was starting to question my competence after trying with 3 different FTP clients .... but then again, my mind kept coming back to WHY I couldn't see the File Manager function on the VAULT page itself.

D'oh.
My apologies, dunno how I overlooked that, I just assumed shell access meant that you could also access the ftp area.
Sorry about that.

I'll get going on ULing it again this weekend sometime after I finish AquaCmpBeta6 & get it posted for wide release and continued testing-tweaking.

Have not forgotten. Just other commitments I had to attend ahead of this.
Will be able to go back to it for another session of ULing this Thursday. Because of upstream limits on my end I have to block-out 2 hour windows for this at work. Not exactly convenient and the several previous attempts were, frankly, a waste of my time (not a whine, just a statement of fact). Hopefully that won't be the case anymore going forward.

Re: Photos for texture work & Sky Boxes ?
Have 2 uploads files here now thank you RV some very good textures there I really like the old stone building with the plants in front, with no roof it would have been most excellent to get a top down shot but carrying a 30 metre step ladder was not on the need to take with you list I presume? ...<---joke
OK back to work I go, have used some texture already and it is looking good in game.
Thank you
Regards Berg

I'm always getting a server busy with the SF vault.
But at the same time I'm able to use FD servers.
Whatever loads is what I go with. At least that way I don't feel like I'm wasting time.
I'll UL a 3rd archive of structex Tues 7/6 (Edit - oops, forgot 4th of July holiday weekend stuff).
This 3rd archive has more useful pics overall I think. The first 2 archives had shots I thought were of questionable use but I threw them in anyway - never know for all the stuff you can do with photo manipulation SW.... plus the in-game scale is usually less than 5% of the original files so doing painterly technique in layers on the originals and then scaling down can yield some interesting results. I did a water texture once for the old renderer such that when it was animated in-game it looked like spray-spume was being stirred up. Experimenting can yield surprising results.
BTW - that shot you are referring to is part of the ruins of the old San Fran Sutro Bath House (down from the Cliff House on the Pacific Ocean beach) after the big 1906 Calif earthquake. I had to shoot it at dawn. Only had a few minutes because I was on my way to the air port to fly back to Colorado.
Speaking of.... there are a bunch of major construction sites in Denver Metro right now and I'm getting pics of bldg. materials from the sites for the 4th archive I'm assembling right now.
Also - any requests for subjects or shooting prefs let me know.
After these I'll UL the skybox, terrain & veg pic archives.
Regards, RV

Re: Photos for texture work & Sky Boxes ?
I have the textures Rman and they have a lot of potential.
Walls, concrete, steel grate, fly, brickwork and crumbling foundations all excellent.
Thank you.
I did have a laugh I was going through the textures and came across a fly .....I screamed "WAITER!!!", "whats this fly doing in my texture" ...well at that moment I desided I had a use for said offending fly... Note my new avatar on profile.
Best Regards Berg
