Just built this computer about a week or so ago. All new parts since my old dell died (Finally).

CPU: Q6600 at 2.4 Ghz
RAM: 2Gb
GPU: 256Mb Geforce 7950 GT OC

Runs great except without sound. Whenever I turn it on it blue screens :-\ Might just get a sound card that isnt made by dell.

If you use Vista I think you should know that I've heard _lots_ of bad things about Vista and its sound system. It is known to be verry slow at times (resulting in "choppy" sound), also driver issues with sound devices are anything but rare.

PS I've got this info mostly from the PortAudio mailing lists.

If you want my opinion; if you use a 64bit operating system I think you should really use GNU/Linux instead of Windows. As it has _very_ poor driver support for the 64bit versions of Windows. And unlike many people who never used GNU/Linux may think, it really isn't super difficult to use. GNU/Linux is just _different_.

Actually Im running windows XP 32bit. I will not go anywhere near Vista for a long while. XP can do practically everything vista can faster and more reliable.

Not quite sure what the sound issue is. Seems to be only this game. Not that big of deal though. Im fairly certain it is because it is a dell card with dell drivers on a non dell computer that is causing the driver conflict.

this poll is now completed - it has served its purpose... me are now aware of from those that bothered to respond.
‎"to prepare for disaster is to invite it, to not prepare for disaster is a fools choice" -me (kim-lav_coyote25-metcalfe) - it used to be attributed to unknown - but adding the last bit , it now makes sense.
