Re: Tower Defence
I just finished the script and its ready to run, or see if it will run rather
So far its a simple map with a script that spawns in units, moves them to your command center, counts command center hits, and adds power for each wave destroyed.
So far the player can't build anything, but that's a simple matter of adding the code to enable different units and structures. I'll worry about what towers/bunkers to enable after I make sure it works.
A fully playable version is coming soon! It'll only have one wave and a very simple map but other modders should be able to dissect the script to make their own missions.
For anyone who wants to get a head start the only easy way to implement this is as a Fast Play mission.

Re: Tower Defence
i think it is a good way of gaining some money to sustain the project and the site...etc dont you think? And also please put a donate button to help you guys perhaps you shold even be able to work only in the game if you receive enough donations and even contract new developers
also there's a huge need of some marketing to make people know of the game and the project...A button in the start menu is already a start,i have found this amazing game and you guys at this site www.baixaki.com.br it was luck of mine

. But why is it problematic?

Re: Tower Defence
Well, you see, since this project does not have any central organization, there would be no clear consensus about who gets the money and what it should be used for, and could in the worst case result in rivalry between the developers.
The only sensible way I'd see this done is like this blender developer http://ocl.atmind.nl/doku.php?id=design ... r-redesign
ie, he works on a new feature and accepts donations so that he will be able to work on it full time.
The problem here is the amount of money required to work full time, since the warzone project, unlike blender, is a for-fun project rather than a professional tool, while blender is used by graphics artists that benefit economically from having a professional developer working on stuff.

Re: Tower Defence
Well then why dont we use the democracy and elect a president for the ressurrection project? Or make in the donations several options like donate to the artwork or donate here to the coders... I think that there are several people that loves or at least liked this game enough to donate... Just in the site that i found you guys there has been 150000 downloads!!! And in the comments the game rating is 9.7!!!

Re: Tower Defence
Well as I said, while we all love warzone, it's still just a game. I don't think anyone would want to take the legal responsibility to be president and handle large amounts of money etc. (unless they are stupid / naive, which, of course, makes them unsuited for the task)
You must realize it would be almost like a full time job, without getting paid much, and serving no greater cause than making a nice computer game.

Re: Tower Defence
Well... here it is, a very buggy and sort of working tower defense mission
A bug in the unit spawn code places one group up on one of the cliffs so it may be impossible to win
I may do some bug fixing yet but other than that its finished.

Re: Tower Defence
The zip contains the mod and an uncompiled copy of the map used. just extract and install the wz file as you would any other global/cam mod. If you don't know how read the FAQ in the guide.
