hay, you did say 'laser':P
Zarel wrote:Sooner or later, they'll be actual beams, and we won't be having this discussion.
the kind of 'beam' that would be derived from rail gun/mass driver tech or laser tech?
joking aside, do you know how balance would be affected if all laser projectile speeds where -1?
would rather negate any target prediction issue, would it not?
itd be pretty awesome to see all of wz 'laser' weaps firing shrunken versions of the lassat... um, projectile imho

A few nanoseconds really isn't enough time to hold up a mirror.

Regardless, Warzone lasers would probably be mostly unaffected by mirrors, or else everyone would just use reflective armor.

The new projectile system doesn't support speeds of -1. (Heck, it doesn't support speeds higher than 3200 or so) Yet another reason why I dislike it.
Furthermore, we don't have graphics for laser beams, so we'd need someone to make them, first.

i have always maintained that they are actually particle beam cannons or some kind.

i could swear i read that someone had done it in a mod*scratches head*
thats where i got the idea.
oh well.

the lassat weapon effect cant be shrunk to do that then??

New projectile system. Old one supported it just fine, iirc.

...nope. Well, even if it could, it'd look horrible.

Plasmite bombs already slow down bombers to near molasses speed.
I don't think they need to be made even heavier.

No they don't. You're clearly not using the right bodies.

I usually use Wyvern or Vengeance.

Hmm. Well, I'm not planning on making them heavier.
I've looked into it. Apparently Plasmite on Wyvern/Vengeance go at a speed of around 300, while Plasmite on Scorpion/Retribution goes at a speed of 700. I'll just be making them slower on Scorpion and Retribution.

What, it goes faster on medium bodies?
I thought they were too weak to support the weight...they'd go even slower I thought.

Yeah. I told you it needed to be fixed.

no, the medium-bodies do have less weight, so they have more energy available for propulsion to lift the weapons

By the way, we should port over the homing AA fix to campaign for the next release, not wait for a full port of rebalance, which may take a long while.
Then why not just revert the damn code so you do not have to mess with anything? It is a win-win situation! No need to fix the faulty realism code, and no need to anti-nerf stuff that the reaslism code breaks since it could make things worse in the campaign in some spots. The only problem is for the dude that made the realism modifications if they are not around to fix it then it should be reverted do not worry about how they take this personally since they injected bad code into warzone without fully understanding how everything meshes together.

Because there are many others who like the new projectile code (and the "faulty realism") as you put it.
(Haven't I already answered this question at least three times?)
