Re: Models by macuser
I'm officially back. I have been around a little but was away most of the summer until now. I'd like to get back into modeling stuff and am starting work on the VTOL propulsion. BTW do we need a light med and heavy VTOL? or just 1.

Light, medium and heavy bodies need separate models, of course, although you can reuse parts and details between the models if it comes in handy (probably better to use separate textures and uv:s, though).
Oh, and welcome back
Did you try out my experimental mod yet? (current download has some shading errors on ati cards, though, will upload a fixed version by tomorrow)

Out of the tanks, we only have the halftracks left untouched on the todo list.
What should be higher priority, scavengers or campaign 2 units? (the thing with scavengers is you seldom see them in skirmish...)

I would say C2 units, the scavengers are ripped through so fast, you'll never see the new models.
Either one would be a great improvement, though the C2 units would see more use in mulitiplayer & skirmish.

Looking good so far
Are you planning to do it with or without subsurf?

Re: Models by macuser
If it's high poly, why aren't the rotors modelled?

Re: Models by macuser
good start. where did you get the overall look? I mean your model needs more time to work on to save the original idea.
more details. more smooth edges. less unnatural look.

Also I plan to add in small grooves here and there like a regular wing would have along with vents on the intakes.
@Slye_fox: it's just the angle, I did model the rotors.
@Mangust: just played around with it a bit
@Jorzi: with subsurf
