when traducer do the traduction, they dont take exactly the word in french.
I am sure that peperphot was not poivrière in the french version.
The best tactit is to mixted up the great tank, the little tank, the adav and the cyborg. And whit this army, doing great stratégie.

A lot of these names could just stay in English... Obviously, things like "chain gun" or "rocket launcher" should be translated, because they're generic, but things like "Pepperpot" or "Retaliation" sound a lot cooler in English!

I disagree with you, kiwibonga.
Too many terms should stay in english by this way... we "must" find a french equivalent

( Maybe) Another mistake...

The New Paradigm have been driven from this zone.
Le Nouveau Pardigme a été "conduit à partir" de cet endroit.

... we don't find here...

SECONDARY MISSION: Destroy or Drive Off Enemy Transport
MISSION SECONDAIRE: Détruire ou "Chasser" les Transports Ennemis.

(...so the translator was tired ?).  ;)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Two questions about the game:

I don't remember a "wyvern" body. Was available in the playstation edition ?

What's that, a "scrambler" ? ( see => "Synaptic Link Scrambler technology"). Units used by Nexus when "absorbing" (I only found a turret system, and related improvements, in strings - and found ArmTech Scrambler. So...) ? I don't remember this name too.

Merci.

@ gnou:

Pilonneur ? Pilon-du-Diable...Chaudron Infernal... Something like that ? Why not. (But, Pepperpot excepted, I still vote for the english names, french ones have something ridiculous). This way, translating as many english names as possible, VTOL must be changed in ADAV ?

The wyvern body is available in multiplayer mode after you research the nexus bodies (and some thermal armor/engine upgrades). I don't think you can find it in the campaign, so it was probably not present in the first versions of warzone either (may have been introduced in a patch). There is even another body, the dragon, available after wyvern.

I didn't find scrambler anywhere in the game, so it's probably some feature that has been dropped. I think it would have been some kind of "brouilleur", to disable buildings, but it's only a guess.

"Brouilleur", yes, that's it. So we have:

- a scrambling device.
- the synaptic link as target.
- this string: Synaptic Link allows humans to interface directly with computers.

So we have a hacking device, allowing a system turret to disable that kind of interfacing. The second step is to take control of the targets I guess - as we could destroy them as well, there's no reason to immobilize them only (=>Nexus take over). These conversion units do the same job that the monks we use in the first Age of Empires series for converting troops and civilians. So scramblers are similar to Nexus Link Towers & Nexus Link Turrets I think. But we don't have them in-game...

Thanks for the precisions about bodies. I have seen these Nexus vehicles in this Tech Tree yet ( a single 22,4 Mo BMP file):

I would change the NEX body names a second time

Light Body - Retaliation = Châssis Léger -  Amertume
Medium Body - Retribution = Châssis Moyen - Représaille(s)
Heavy Body - Vengeance = Châssis Lourd - Vengeance

And I'm still waiting for your Po files

I'm updating MoroSqua's file, I will be finished soon.

Currently, we don't translate howitzer, but I've found on wikipedia that it can be translated to "obusier". Which one do you prefer ? I prefer "obusier" because I think it is better to have a french name for the generic group of weapons.

To qwerty : "Représailles" isn't used as a singular, so the plural will be better.

There is still "Amertume" that looks weird, but I don't have any better idea, except the ones you discarded (Revanche, Châtiment). The other two are good.

Here is my update on the translation, now it's your turn.

By the way, some line numbers are shifted a few lines from the source files (example : the clparse.c strings). Can this be automatically corrected or will we have to do it manually ? Does it have any impact on the game or is it only a help for translators ?

And last complain, the "Green" translation for the color disappeared, so when I played the campaign at the beginning of the second campaign I got the sentence "Recrue vous donne un rapport de visibilité", which is the translation of "Green gives you a visibility report", but Green was translated as a rank, not a color... I now it's not easy to make it work, why not replacing the color strings ("Green", "Orange" and so on) by "Green Player", "Orange Player"... ? It would really help translators.

2 questions:

Finally, will we replace the "Pillard" word for "pilleurs"? It annoy me >:(

Are sou sure (Althalus) it's a good idea to translate "Body Points" to "Points de santé"? I think "Points d'armure", "Points de protection" or something similar.

Oh, and also, the string
...préparait sa Route vers le Pouvoir à cet endroit.
Will someone will replace it?

EDIT: I did these modificationin the attached po file but I'm buzzy now
I will do more later

point de vie?
the ennemy base was nammed «base ennemy» and the scavenger base was nammed «poste défensif de pilliard»

why do you put «poste défensif de pilliard» and not «base de pilliard»?
