Yes. I am proposing you ask them real nice to take over the Warzone game all together because you guys don't know what your doing. Whoever made changes in the source code, they did it so bad not even you can fix it anymore.

Even if they took over the code would remain a mess. Perhaps if the current crop of devs had more time to spend on WZ instead of RL things might be different, but I doubt it.. people have RL issues to deal with. If you don't like it learn some C/C++ and start creating patches :P

.

If heaven and earth were moved, all the planets lined up and by some miracle members of the original Pumpkin team could make a living by revisiting the Warzone universe, it wouldn't be WZ 2100 they would work on but rather WZ 2120. The WZ 2100 source was released for a dual purpose: that the games continued development would also serve as a learning vehicle. That dual purpose has been served throughout since 2004. From the looks of it, there's more years left in the old girl to spruce up and strut her stuff. :3

I doubt RL had anything to do with it going by the responses from the forum trolls who are all over the forums.

@War2070: That is quite a hypocritical thing to say for someone who obiously prefers to play this game rather than the original 1.10 release (that's right, it's right there for you to play, if you can get it to run). By posting arrogant critique like this, you are essentially pretending that you would be in a position to make demands.

Edit: Thank you stiv, you said what I was trying to say but couldn't.

There is nothing to 'take over'. The source code is open and freely available. If you want to create a fork (another version, for you non-developers), have at it. As that fat old commie Mao Tse Tung said, let a thousand WZ 2100s bloom!

Or was this just another suggestion for someone else to do the work while you stand around and offer advice?
