All betas use the same directory for storing configuration, independent from where it is installed.

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. No, those should be there.
4. Except of deleting .warzone2100-3.1 - yes.

I dont think you should do that. Your configuration file is stored there this is also where you hold you custom maps and mods for beta10.
If you look you should have a hidden folder for 2.3.# also this also has your configuration file for that version..EG:your screen res the sound settings etc

Berg, that one with _beta10 suffix is not used, unless something got changed in recent days. ;-)

I think I am starting to understand :-)
The hidden folders in my home folder are used for configuration options. That is why they shouldn't be deleted?
Although I uninstalled the 2.3.8 version, the hidden folder for it has not been deleted.
I guess that if I choose to reinstall from the software center, I will have my options and videos ready to play....

Ok so I will do everything you said ... except for the no 2.
For this one I will just rename the directory so that if it is really needed I can bring it back to life easily.

Yes, removing application doesn't remove its settings.

Where does that come from anyway? As far as I know, we don't use that.

Well I did everything I wrote in the previous reply.
I can run the game from the icon in the launcher.
it seems to run fine. It seems that the ....beta10 hidden folder is not needed after all...
