Try playing Supreme Commander, 8 player game with 100 units each. Ouch!
SC:FA was a bit better.
SC2 nerfed pretty much everything, and while it plays better with more units, they butchered it.

So a fix for the lag on older and low end computers isn't likely?

HI iluvalar, its been a long time. Have you tried turning Vertical Sync off in the Warzone video optons? Check you fps while your focused on your base. Also check your fps focused elsewhere on the map.

For me I was getting 20 to 60 fps. Then I tried turning Vertical Sync off in the Warzone options and shadows off, res 640 x 480 and texture 256, and then tweaking my card in the nvidia setting for fasted perfomance I get up to 120 fps with warzone 3.1.
