Good Chance to spread the word: Facebook IM is based on the XMPP / Jabber-Protocol and opened its doors to other XMPP-Services some time ago. If anyone got a direct Jabber-Account somewhere or Accounts from GMX or Google, they are based on it too and you can chat with Facebook-Users. If you got a GMX-E-Mail you got a Jabber-Account too (just the same Login data) and Google Messenger uses XMPP - this means, you can chat with any Facebook, GMX, Google IM-User with any Jabber-Account with any Messenger program (though Google IM at the moment doesn't let every program connect, but this will change for sure) which supports Jabber.

By the way: I suggest everyone to switch to XMPP /Jabber, it's the Internet Standard for Messengers and most or all of the big Companies will switch to it as time goes on. E.g. AOL announced Plans for this (ICQ belongs to AOL) and others too.

As a multi messenger (connects to Jabber, ICQ, MSN, AOL, Xfire, Yahoo!, IRC and many more) i recommend Pidgin, i use it myself: (http://pidgin.im/), [though i recommend to ONLY use Jabber for certain reasons], it is cross-platform and provides encryption.

I also use and recommend Pidgin. It's got the best layout for IRC in my opinion, and it offers access to all other above mentioned IM services.

Many People got Facebook, GMX or Google-Accounts and dont know, that they can connect to and chat with each other, because they all use (more or less) the same protocol - namely XMPP/Jabber - and are open to other servers which do it. Just wanted to tell, so some people might avoid creating new Accounts somewhere.

i would be interested in joining. I was once in a huge xbox live clan, RGC (Renegade Gaming Community). I had a leadership position there for over a year, running my own Battalion (a smaller group of members overseen by a colonel. Usually consists of about 30 to 45 people and acts as a separate forum or smaller branched off community.). But, things fell apart and the top brass started making people angry with too much drama between members and favoritism.. So i left, and decided to work more on my professional life.

But yeah. If you're looking for someone with clan experience, i'll do what i can to help, whether it be advice or straight up clan work. Just to let you know, i will be joining the military soon this year, so im not sure what my duties will be or when i'll be back when im gone.. So yeah, im all in. Holler back.

although everyone starts as a recruit untill i figure a way to "promote" each other fairly... maybe activity on the forums + games played? so active members rank more then a really good player who rarely plays? i dunno i have a few issues with trying to be fair haha
