If you want driving mode, it's a little more complicated than Zarel says :P

To unlock it, you need to go into the file named 'keymap.map' and look through the file for 'Enable Driving Mode' and somewhere around that area, there's what looks like a Euro sign. Change that to a lowercase D. Then open the game, activate debug mode, and hit Shift-D.

keymap.map is located in Documents \ Warzone 2100 (your version number here/trunk) for Vista, or My Documents \ Warzone 2100 (version number/trunk) for XP. Can't tell you anything about Mac/Linux :P

Buggy, you only need to do one more thing to make driving mode like the PSX version - make it so you can see what unit your controlled unit is attacking! Then it's the PSX version!

Thanks,I did not need to change the kemap file it worked for me without changing it, and when I looked at the file it was allready changed to a lower case d. Also the camera is very wonky, and spins out of control way to often...very dizzy. O_O

Yeah, that's cause the camera's so damn precise. Not to mention it sometimes rotates a full 360 degrees to correct a 5 degree movement in the other direction :P That's another problem that should be fixed up.

Here's a relevant quote from warcam.c (the source file that deals with the follow camera):

Code: Select all

/* Alex McLean, Pumpkin Studios, EIDOS Interactive, 1998 */
/*	23rd September, 1998 - This code is now so hideously complex
and unreadable that's it's inadvisable to attempt changing
how the camera works, since I'm not sure that I'll be able to even
get it working the way it used to, should anything get broken.
I really hope that no further changes are needed here...:-(
	Alex M. */
You can understand why I'm not keen on fixing that bug. ;)

sounds like they created a monster or something: "it turns out that the creatures intelligence is higher than previously thought and more powerful than we knew any attempt to enter its proximity results in the mind shutting down irrevocably as it uses telekinesis to force the victims brain through their eye sockets....oh god its escaped " which is probably what the code would do to most here the rest would just scratch their heads as if to say... wtf happened here? i know id be the former
Return to your designated zone or be destroyed. You are in contravention of the new paradigm.

Maybe it should be placed on the todo list: make warcam.c not look like a monster with forty eyes and huge abs.
