Re: Decreasing the Unit Limit...?
explain why you want this done. unit limit is better now than what it used to be.
you wish to go back to 100 units total? 15 trucks and then what ever left as aggressive units. is that what you want??
or even less units. say , 50. 5 trucks and the rest in aggressive units.

100/15 is enough i think... because its less laggy and the game keep the speed.

you do realize the amount of people that fought for the increase in units, right? perhaps another poll to find out the true numbers wanting a decrease in units. i can almost hear the caterwauling now....Delphinio wrote:100/15 is enough i think... because its less laggy and the game keep the speed.

Re: Decreasing the Unit Limit...?
I think 100 units is plenty, although the 15 truck limit is a bit low (there shouldn't be a limit to any specific kind of unit xept commanders).
Even 50 ground units is too many as they get tangled up in each-other during battles and they become hard to manage.
I think the limit increase was strongly advocated by those who like to mass VTOLs and possibly Cyborgs.
Needing that many units to take down an enemy is either the sign of broken gameplay or more proof of the problem of how a game featuring Turtling players comes to resolution (I think the latter is more likely the case).

Re: Decreasing the Unit Limit...?
and what is wrong with tactical turtling??? is my favourite way of playing. rush and those that use it, pfffft, they lack patience.
Re: Decreasing the Unit Limit...?
To be honest, for me I think turtling is the most fun (vs the AI). Vs human players, I usually try to rush as I typically don't have 2+ hours to devote to a game, especially in the past when things would desync eventually anyway.
To have a robust online gaming community I've always felt that the average game time should be between 20-40 minutes for every 2 players in the game (and add about 5-10 for every additional player). That's kinda the metric that I always try to go by.

Re: Decreasing the Unit Limit...?
it isn't a great kick butt game unless you spend at least 2 hours + on it. mine usually go for about 5... have done some 8 hour games but that is a bit hard on the butt.
Re: Decreasing the Unit Limit...?
That is hardcoded into the game, so you would need a new build.Delphinio wrote:Is it possible to decreasing the Unit limit without a rebuild?
