...or we could change how rearming speed is affected by dividing by the weapon's weight instead of the total weight of the VTOL. Seriously though, I feel for you man. I'm reluctant to use heavier VTOL bodies not only because they're slower and more expensive, but also because they're slower to rearm.

but aircrafts are not tanks but fast and mobile, thats what give them their advantage. i you put some rockets on a 20+ tonne tank it will not go fast, even if it lifts.
The more an aircraft weighs the more it takes to make it lift witch requires more powerful expensive engines. Warzone2100 is not so distant in the future. There are many more complications to a heavy aircraft, thats why the AI uses VTOLViperLancers. They are cheap, fast and cost effective.
Solution: learn from the AI, use light VTOLs in large numbers... :D

Lol, i don't think it's *actually* effective (or cost-effective). The only really good use for rocket VTOLs is air-to-air combat; apart from this, you'd prefer bombers most of the time.

not really when they are very effective against heavy tanks, 5 of lancers do massive damage when i barely scratches the tank with regular bombs... unless i get HEAP Bomb bays but then they get expensive. but everyone surely has his own solution.
However, bombs are brutal against buildings :wink:

Also, bombers kill AA emplacements effectively.
Really. Lancer VTOLs aren't widely used in multiplayer (even though they might be underused in A2A)

but you're right that lancer VTOLs are not used very much in multiplayer, in fact that I have never seen anyone do it XD .
I may be one of the few who uses them, the little time I play online :)
