I'm writing a new flaME manual soon, and I need help!
The old guide:
download/file.php?id=6186
The new guide:
Will be much better than that outdated junk, and I plan to write it and release it DEFINITELY before the end of the year, but I have a very busy November ahead. So for the next two weeks, I will be watching this thread VERY closely.
What do I want?
Ideas!
Improvements, new sections, new images, anything that I could use to improve in the rewriting of the old flaME guide!
So, drop them below, I'll reply to every. single. one. I'll compile ideas through the next two weeks until November, use any free time I have in November to cobble together a rough manual outline, and write the whole thing in December. That's the plan.

Yes, a quick-to-access cheat sheet would be really helpful. Maybe it should be organized like a table? Like the Netbeans keyboard shortcuts card.macuser wrote:no, but thats another good idea and maybe also a key combinations cheat sheet
And Flame really does need a quick-start guide, in my opinion. Having one would make life easier for newcomers. Showing the basics of mapmaking like choosing a tileset, adding cliffs and roads, and compiling a map to make it playable, etcetra.. would be good.
Here are a few screenshots I took when I was writing a Korean manual for my cousin(I had to seperate the images into several files, because the total size was too big)BlueMaxima wrote:What do I want?

Point taken, consider the cheatsheet in the rewrite; and those images look god, I assume I'm free to use them in the manual? (Of course I'll credit you if needbe)urgood2 wrote:BlueMaxima wrote:So kind of like a quickstart guide?Yes, a quick-to-access cheat sheet would be really helpful. No need for credit, and yes you can use them freely.
