2.3.5 RC1 has been released!

Post by Buginator »

The Warzone 2100 Project staff bring you this 2.3.5 release candidate.

We are reimplementing testing builds in order to help us release better builds, we just don't have the manpower to test everything, and true testers are very hard to come by.

We strongly urge everyone to try this 2.3.5 release candidate--especially multiplayer users!, and report any and all issues with it.

I would like to take a moment, and remind people of this: :lecture:
It has become very apparent that people don't have a clue on how things get fixed, and instead, like to froth at the mouth, in the forums or IRC or e-mail about game issues. We need detailed bug reports, (which is good) and a way to reproduce, (which is even better!) said bug.
Spouting off about how the game is unstable doesn't help anyone, do your part and actually submit good bug reports, so we can fix the problems. :lecture:

Please submit all bugs via this link, and follow the directions listed at the link, we need every bit of that information in order to fix bugs!

Downloads will be made available at our usual site:
note: Mac builds will be up as soon as someone can make them--sorry for the delay.

    * Removed: Cyclone turret
    * Added: AA Flak Cannon (and Emplacement and Hardpoint)
    * Flak Cannon is a medium-reload splash weapon
    * Prerequisites: Hyper Velocity Cannon
    * Added: Sunburst AA Rocket Array (and Site)
    * Sunburst is a slow-reload salvo weapon
    * Prerequisites: Lancer
  • Machinegun is now less overpowered in the early-game:
    * HMG now requires APDSB Mk2 instead of TMG

    * Flamer now requires Engineering instead of FIE+MG
  • The "mini-rocket" and "rocket" subclasses have been merged:
    * Mini-rockets and rockets are now affected by the same upgrades
    * The merged subclass has 9 damage upgrades (+25% each), 3 accuracy upgrades (+10% each), and 3 ROF upgrades (-15% reload time each)
    * Lancer, TK, BB, Cyborg Lancer, and Super TK Cyborg have their damage adjusted so that their fully upgraded damage remains the same
    * These changes should mainly help make MRA more viable
  • Slight buff to Heavy Laser, Avenger, and Vindicator damage
  • Require HQ for every weapon structure, not just MG Tower
Mods
  • Fix: Nexus Total War Ai Slider Bug, and update image for name change (r11508)

I build 2.3.5_rc1 for mac osx for myself, the novid dmg is over here: http://hiramvp.homeip.net/warzone2100-n ... .5_rc1.dmg
However i build it with sdk 10.5 instead of 10.4u.
It starts but i didn't test it further.
It's a clean build with Xcode targets Release|Warzone|i386 and MakeDMGs

i think the in game kick is a bad idea. I know there are a lot of cheaters in the game but this wont solve as many problems as it will cause imo.

When i play a game with people i dont know 50% of the time i get called a cheater just because i play better.

I think we should just wait until the lobby we have to register to play in to be developed to solve the problem of cheaters.

Theres a chance it will help but guess will have to wait and see.
Failure is not falling down but refusing to get up.

Pm me to try out for RBL.

I don't know if it was intended or not but the game is alot better as far as lag is concerned. Before i was only able to host 1vs1 games w/o lag. However now I'm able to host 4vs4 game and it runs smooth as slik. Whatever you did, I give you two thumbs up..

update: ok I have noticed that sometimes when people join the room others can't see all the new joiners, what I do is change the flag color of the person that only I can see, then everyone else is able to see them also. It's not a big deal just letting you know.

For some reason the new AA weapons don't appear for me...the Cylcone is gone, but no Sunburst or Flak Cannon. Sad because I was quite curious to see them.

I don't see what all the fuss is about.

If you are going to be called a cheater, then the host is going to end the game, and everyone is kicked.
Now, if you are going to be called a cheater, then the host can kick you, and the game will continue for everyone else.

There is no difference, you get kicked in both cases.
There is a difference for everyone else though.
and it ends here.

Perhaps I missed something, but I wasn't able to research Tank Killers and Scourge in a skirmish game.

Yes, we need people that can make builds!

If you have a sourceforge account, then you can get upload access to the site.

If you can get on IRC, it is easier to discuss things, just enter #warzone2100 and start yelling for us :)
and it ends here.

This build works on my laptop with the sis mirage 3 where the others did not.

However when playing the terrain is black aside from any raised items. You can play but you can only guess where you are...

Still it's progress.

Hope this helps.

Regards Snake.
