It isn't an installer, although made with NSIS, just an SFX archive that will extract the files to Desktop(or any other folder by your choice).
I don't think the Devs would be too happy about other people putting up builds that aren't from them?
What did you make that with?
It also is a bad link.

Why would they? It is the same WZ they would compile, and only diffrence is that it isn't an installer, but an SFX, as it is only for testing purposes.
What did I make that with? Compiled using MSVC 2008 an then packaged using NSIS.
Hmmm... Let me check that...

No, it isn't the same thing.
They don't use MSVC at all, and it won't work if you just give them the executable.

You don't understand at all.
It isn't just an exucutable. It is the whole game including all files, libs, mods and music.
No matter what you compile with, the executable should be the same.
I tested it, and it works on computers other then mine.
Anything else you want to know?

My bad. I thought you were just doing the executable.
I guess that would work OK then, I just don't know if they want other people to make builds who are not part of the Dev team.
Guess we wait and see for official comment from them.

The executable will not be the same in any case, different compilers.

See, it all depends on your definition of "dev".

If your definition of "dev" is "someone who can develop Warzone", then, since this is an open-source project, everyone is a dev, and KuKY, as a dev, has created a build of Warzone, and it sure sounds like he's happy with that.

If your definition of "dev" is "Warzone staff", then, allow me to speak for all of the staff when I say: Thank you, KuKY!

The reason we do not distribute Warzone builds more often is because it's too much work. If someone else is willing to do that work for us, we welcome it.

I explained this to Crymson before, since he was going to make builds for us...

Erm... no, that isn't the reason. :stare: The reason is strictly a time issue.
Also note, that we do *not* want MSVC builds to be made available in place of builds that we normally make.

For testing specific issues, it is fine, for everything else, no, don't use them.
The MSVC builds will NOT help us with finding bugs, unless you are a advanced user, who knows there way around using debuggers.

In short, thanks KuKY, but if they are not 32bit cross-compiled builds (haven't tested mingw on windows, so I don't know the status of that), then we would prefer people stick to the older 'official' snapshots.
and it ends here.

MinGW doesn't work on Windows; it took me weeks to get trunk working again.
Bring back...ducks!

This is actually an error common enough to be listed on the CompileGuide/Mac page.

I know, but it was a current-gen Mac Pro running 10.6.4. And I was using the build distributed here, not compiling.

X11 is a run-time dependency not a build-time one. Additionally if you install 10.6 on to a blank mac yourself (not just use the factory install) you will not get X11 installed by default.

Also, according to the crash report the computer is running 10.6.3.

Well, that's all sorts of undesirable. Should we bundle X11? Stop using things that require it?
