Spammers and this forum section

Post by Crymson »

Why does this forum section keep getting hit by spammers?
I think you should disable links in this forum section if you allow anyone to post, and if more than 2 links then don't allow the post at all.

I don't think it's possible to selectively disable links in phpBB.

Well, I think that changes allowing to do that would be very simple, and anyone with some basic knowledge of PHP can do it.
However, it would require more work to make it configurable, and making it a local, not global setting would be really hard job.

Not really, you can always check hardcoded forum ID or apply that to all that have write permission for guests.

Heck, that'll only disable turning:

example.com

into

example.com

in the forum description. Everything else like example.com will still work normally.

But it says "set to 0 for unlimited" - so how do you actually set it to 0?

Ofc it's global.
Nothing is good enough...
Still, I'm happy because I found it. So I'm happy without an reason :D
