Power comes so slowly

Post by seamles »

Hi,

I had three oil drills up but power was coming in so slowly. Is that normal or is there a way to speed this up?

Did you also build a power generator for every four oil derricks.
If you have more wells pumping you gain more power so look around the map and build as many as you can without dying.
You can do the tutorial it may help its on the startup menu.

Yea I had three oil drills and a power generator. I finished the first mission, but during the second mission the power was coming in so slowly I couldn't really make enough units.

You won't have enough power to spam the enemy with units, but you even don't need too much, I think. Build repair units and let your forces go forwards and retreat to your repair vehicles as often as they got damaged, so you should handle the mission with quite a few vehicles.

Don't forget not to finish the mission before the mission timer goes nearly down, so you will have some time to research some technology if you found some and to collect some power for the next mission.

Maybe you should read this, at least the first post: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3051.
Hope you will enjoy the game!

For the webmasters:
By the way, since the web servers were down, the old walkthroughs (http://docs.wz2100.net/walk%20through/index.html) are not available any more, is there a reason why? :)

Hi,

Ok thanks! The repair stuff doesn't come for a while though right? I didn't see an option early on for anything for repairs unless I'm missing something big.

Nope, you don't get repair stuff until the second level.

In some of the first missions you also get a power upgrade. Which does nearly double your power income. But don't forget after the research to upgrade your powerplant! (Order a truck to build on your powerplant, like you upgrade factorys later)

Also: If you don't need some unity anymore, recycle them, especialle those with experience! Newly build units will have the previous recycled experience + you get some power back.

This isn't command & conquer, you have to do some ressource management as well and take care of your troops.

Actually, I never used repair facility until maybe beta missions (?). It was too slow and annoying for me, I'd just use 4 repair turrets viper wheels, fast and convenient (if you manage to keep them alive, but rep. fac also can be destroyed)

Why? O_o
xD

Repair facilities are useful for setting up forward bases, which help you preserve your best tanks (using retreat at heavy damage of even retreat at medium damage). They work best when placed 2 tiles between each other, even in a group of 4 (repair speed is really high when you place a unit in the middle of them all, this way).

Here's a piece of advice:
DO NEVER RECYCLE YOUR UNITS, SAVE AND EXIT GAME. Because, when you load the saved game, the units you produce WILL NOT have the experiencie from the recycled units. I'm not sure if this happens in the latest version of the game, but I used to have units from the first campaing to the second campaing with all the experience and did the big mistake of recycling them, save the mission and go to sleep or whatever. After that, I was so pissed that I send all my new units to death.

Well, I hope you find this useful, would have certainly been useful for me long time ago!!!
Cheers!

Why would you need them to have experience anyway?

Apart from them looking cool with their stripes, I don't see much improvement.
