Full Tech Tree and unit database

Post by jumon »

I'm a warzone fanatic from way back, can't wait to download this and try it out. I loved it so much I've stored an image of a Tech Tree that was rare even then and a full database of all the units. I've done some basic forum browsing, but it does not seem like this is already available anywhere else. Do you think this could be part of the downloads section? Its a great help when trying to figure out what to build and, in the case of the tech tree, how to build.

Those certainly do look like the one I have, but the one I have is much larger and more complete from what I found at the link provided. Is there another one like that which is updated? Mine is from version 1.09, I believe.

The problem is, there's no tech tree for 2.1. And it has changed (most notably, lancer is a lot harder to get).

The other problem is, the old tech tree and the Documents Project tech tree don't show how to get to upgrades.

For instance, if you wanted to know how to find Cannon Rapid Loader, where would you look?

* All true.

* However, what are the obstacles to simply modifying Pumpkin's html Tech Tree to reflect the changes of 2.1 ?

That is pretty nice, but I always thought that the other one-page version was easier to read. I've placed it out on fileplanet for people to examine. This really makes it more playable in my mind, but that might be because of its "flow". I could only get this to print on a really large roll plotter I had access to at one job. It was HUGE!

This was a feature added in either 1.11 or 1.12 (which are unofficial mods). 2.1 is based off 1.10, and thus doesn't have them.

So because of a lack of a tech tree, I've decided to generate one.

http://celerisdrive.com/wz/r/

This is completely automated, so by copying over the data/ directory of the source and running a few scripts, it can be updated to reflect the latest version.

You'll notice it's all part of a larger guide I'm making, but the only parts I have done so far are research and weapons.

* Oh my, this is a terrific contribution and tool, Zarel. :)

* Combining the Tech Tree and DB is powerful.

* There are many ways to use this new guide to good effect.

* I will make use of it, no doubt. As much for how it stands
now as for how to change it.

* Thanks for the first class effort.

That is pretty cool. I think its probably the next evolution of the tech tree. I just liked the one I posted since everything was there at a glance even though you really have to zoom in and out to see the details of stuff. Hopefully, this will turn into something even better!

Since so many people have asked, I've generated the whole tech tree on one page:
