i don't know if it's useful because vtols can fly across the whole map quickly but i like the idea of an aircraft carrier

However, I doubt that it is possible without some code changes; the extent of which I am still unsure of.

Looks good. Will require some code changes, though. I would move the bridge to the side, I think, to avoid having to place rotation limitations on the guns (to avoid clipping fire through the bridge). Or just remove the guns from the ship - ships this size (and cost, I assume) should have escorts!

It would still be wise to have some basic weapon emplacements on the ship from a tactical standpoint - for example, flak cannons or surface-to-air missile launchers.

Hmm.. Nice idea and protoype, but wouldnt it look nicer to have the Rearm-Stations on the left and on the right side or in a circle? Because of Stabilization, because of the Weight of the VTOLs (one Line full, the other empty - shouldnt it sweep? At least a bit?). With this Design it could then more easy rotate on the Spot, without flying forward or backward (like Hovercraft in the Air). Just an Idea. Or is this all about a Ship on the Sea? I thought, an Airship..
If this Rearm-Ship gets realized and WITH some Weapons on it, you must create a pure Warship too, because it would be weird to have an Airship with Rearm-Stations and Weapons, but no Airship with only (stronger though) Weapons. The engineers must see this Possibility!
I agree with that. But i don't really agree with the Suggestion to give those Rearm-Ships even some Weapons. Because they would then turn into Warships and wouldnt be pure Rearm-Ships anymore. I don't think you would let this Rearm-Ship stay alone and undefended somewhere, so Weapons would be a bit too much in my Opinion. :/wari wrote:Outstanding! perhaps it shouldn't have any own weapons, but a VTOL strike turret, so you could assign a couple of the VTOL's it carries to defend the ship if it would come under attack (of course it should be defended by some escort ships as well).

Ye, it should have it's own Strike Turret for sure. But since VTOLs don't really follow and only come and attack, when the Sensor gets attacked, it's pretty useless as long as no one implements the VTOL-Command to follow the Sensor like Ground Units follow it's Sensor. Okay, maybe they can follow, because they just wait on the Rearm-Stations, but you can't really assign VTOLs to specific Rearm-Stations - they search themselves for one and sometimes they fly back to the base for some reason. That would be a pretty good idea. good idea ellio I like the look of this navel stuff, although non of the current maps are big enough for it. I would suggest arms in line with real aircraf carriers so light AA and light cannons. BUT this is wz so just give it 4 wep mounts or something.

I thought of a bunch of other ship ideas
1: Tank carrier, for when you REALLY want to arrive in style (Cue military march music and old, silver haired general stepping off a landing craft)
2: Landing Craft, see above, but with cyborgs, and while we're at it, why not give cyborgs hover boots/ jetpacks?
3: Warship, packed with weaponry of every kind, as well as a one use "cruise" missile, which can destroy anything inside a small radius, but can neither be reloaded, nor reused via recycling. once you've used it, u have to make another ship, or not use it at all.
4: Patrol ship, smaller scale, mostly AA defenses, since planes are the current biggest threat to any weak target.
And why not invent torpedoes, for ship-ship combat? We've got AA guns, machine gun for cyborgs, and cannons for tanks, so why not have torps for ships? Every other troop has an effective defense.
