I'm getting into map making and encountered a problem. When I try to resize a map it resizes to a circle. And when I select area and use "resize to selection" it doesn't add terrain to my map, only removes things outside the selection. Is there a switch or something to make my map square? Or do I have to make a big circle and "cut" the square out of it?
Bonus question: when testing my map, units were able to climb any hill on the map. Slowly, but they managed to. How do I prevent this from happening?

Solution for future generations: the map is always a square or rectangle. It may look like a circle in the editor when you zoom all the way out, due to limited render distance (you can't change it).
Solution for bonus question: paint cliffs on the walls. Keep on mind that not every texture can become a cliff. Only those marked as red in the texture section. But you can also put cliffs manually as textures from the same menu if really needed.
