Rugnir's Maps

Post by Rugnir »

I have made a map collection uploaded under a GPLv2 licence, meaning you can take these maps and change them, but you must attribute me as the original maker of the maps.
Anyway, these maps I have made at the moment consist of the first few successful maps I have made.
I am not all that good at names, and these maps are open to better naming suggestions.
If you find any errors or want to make a suggestion say it below, and thanks for your input, much appreciated!

The maps are as follows:
Rugnir Map Pack V1.zip
The first 10 Maps by me

There are 10 maps in all in this first post
Thanks for looking! :)

Having the maps all in one archive is nice.
Did you know you can upload your maps here singularly with images showing them in the forum thread. then the maps can be discussed individually.
Also the website has the add-ons feature for maps that you feel have been discussed and tweaked to the final finish. http://addons.wz2100.net/
Bad thing is not everyone can open rar files.
Hope you don’t mind I change the archive to zip format and upload it here for you.

Thanks Berg,
I`m sure, RUGNIR will not object to the republishing in zip format

Yeah, i've been using filedropper for a while, but they delete files very quickly.
Lost quite a lot of nice stuff on this.

Ok thanks for the input! I am fine with the republishing in .zip of course.

NoQ, could you suggest any better places? I just used the first one that came from google :)

A new mapmaker. Great. Thanks for the new maps, Rugnir.
Nice Design :-)
I played them against strong NB. My first impression was: a little bit to much oil. It was easy to win the 2-player maps in 10 minutes and the 4 player maps under 20 minutes. May be- some scavs would make the game harder. But i`m sure, that the maps are great for a quick game against real players. the 4-player map craters is very good. The 8-player map looks like a team map 4 vs 4.

Sorry for my unusual english
regards

Hello Rugnir :)

Nice work,

I suggest using the file hosting of our website. It seems it is we and we only who will last with files til the year 2100 :)

I also think it would be nice if you could provide previews of your maps in the future :3

Great work, Rugnir. It is a pleasant surprise to see low-oil maps. They promise a fierce fight over the energy supply :-)
Thanks

Thanks! i'm working on a 5v1 challenge map, but am having trouble turning a map into a challenge. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this? Rest assured, I have tried to balance the map with oil levels:

you could give more labs, oil and factory for the single player.
it's hard balace a 5 vs 1 game, i think.
You need a lot map test with good player for check the balance. :hmm:

Both teams start with no bases. the player on his/her own has 18 oils, whereas the cpu has 12 between them that in all there is, and also the player starts in a very good defencive position, along with more trucks at beginning
