Removing the max research cost limit
Re: Removing the max research cost limit
Don't go too overkill on replacing outdated stuff though - sometimes having a few old bits and pieces floating around can be useful if you're low on power and need to churn out some meatshield.

Not sure, is it really neccesarry?aubergine wrote:<off-topic>
If work is being done on research.ini, could the messages/resmessages*.rmsg content be put directly in to research.ini?
hmm...i dont want to double size of research.ini
Re: Removing the max research cost limit
They are directly related to the research items, so why not keep it all in one place? The file size doesn't really matter that much, and the text but can be put on one line if \n is used to denote line feeds. The current approach is just adding more files (and different format files at that) with no real benefit. Having everything in the one place will make it obvious if there's a tech that doesn't have associated research message. Also, I think there may be already some overlap between the imd stuff (whatever that is?) -- if the research.ini will be defining the pie file to use and the little blue icons (where applicable) why duplicate that in rmsg?
