What happened to aubergine's Warzone 2100 Wiki?
I've heard that aubergine is quitting for some reason, which is sad, though it looks like his Warzone 2100 wiki was reset to a much earlier date. That's a shame, as he put a lot of effort into that. Did something bad happen?

It is a mystery wrapped in an enigma coming about of a sudden, it seems to me.
Something happened, no doubt. What, dunno. But the reaction to whatever, is very strong and deep. That's how I'm reading the results.
There is a pattern of such strong reactions leading to an ending over the last few years. All a bit of a mystery - but one. Don't think I'd care to be that proverbial fly on the wall.

I was just about to comment about this as well.

Not that I know anything, but this kind of behavior is usually associated with the feeling that he put a lot of effort but doesn't get the proper recognition. But I admires him, and I know he is well respected in this community. So maybe it's only one person or one post that got him like this.
Ok, sorry, it's just my way of saying that I don't know and I'm very sorry that he's gone.

I appreciate all that he's done as well. I'll miss him, though why is he quitting?

The topic being locked has nothing to do with why he left, "goodbye" "i quit" etc topics tend to get locked as they tend to produce a lot of unproductive noise.Paul wrote:His topic was locked so there must have been something that went on?
Maybe in immature individuals, but I don't think aubergine fit that bill.iap wrote:but this kind of behavior is usually associated with the feeling that he put a lot of effort but doesn't get the proper recognition.

People quit everyday then comeback, is there anyone who hasnt quit a game before then gone back to it back? O.o
The last game i quit was populous reincarnated, that was like the 4th or 5th time i quit. Point is who cares, if our friend Aubergine doesnt comeback then he doesnt like the game enough to be a part of it anyway, so he would have been wasting his own time contributing to stuff.
BTW i am also quitting but i may be back tomorrow.

Really. Since when is anyone compelled to deal with Apple's App Store on behalf of WZ.
Re-setting the wiki and all that entails has ZERO impact on the App Store & 100% here.
May as well say the cause was a 38% rise in murders this year in Chicago over 2011.

Maybe he was referring to the concept of someone taking an open source project, and doing a not so open stuff with it, at least in spirit (if not in formal).
There where some discussions about it here, if I remember correctly.

Maybe the wiki reset was a cause rather than a consequence?

Talked about it specifically weeks ago. Non-issue, for sure.iap wrote:Maybe he was referring to the concept of someone taking an open source project, and doing a not so open stuff with it, at least in spirit (if not in formal).

Re: What happened to aubergine's Warzone 2100 Wiki?
I am a little bit worried as it is second person who goes away in a very shor time, the first was shall I have said blocked, and now aubergine by his choice.
What we shoud turn attention into is the fact that he was active all the time, and did what he did full time, and suddenly he said he quits, and what is more he shared it with us.
I am afraid what is going on here, I am not about to make panic, or mystery island, but I personally state it is strange.
