Do you listen to your own music tracks in Warzone 2100?

Post by Shadow Wolf TJC »

Personally, instead of listening to Warzone 2100's tiny selection of music tracks over and over, I'd rather listen to certain playlists full of music tracks depending on the situation that I'm in: calm tracks for when I'm building up my forces in safety; tense, quiet tracks for when there are hostiles nearby, yet little action happens; and mildly-intense tracks when I'm actively mobilizing my forces against the enemies'. I even have some skirmish-specific playlists since I believe that things can get quite hectic in those games. Mostly, my music tracks come from other games, such as Command & Conquer, Supreme Commander 1 and 2, and Universe at War. What about you? (By the way, how do I create a poll here?)

I always believed that Severn's tunes fit perfectly into WZ. They kinda "build" themselves up as you progress into the game, effectively "accompanying" you; yet they never get tense, thus even in the fiercest battle they hint you to stay frosty, something that few other RTSs do...

...though if I ever were to take a second option, I'd say Supreme Commander. Those tracks are freakin' epic :3

Occasionally I'll use the old tracks from some of the warzone versions before the original music was open sourced. They don't really fit as well as the official tracks but I played warzone while listening to them for long enough that they just sound "right".
In general, if you see glowing, pulsating things in the game, you should click on them.

I converted my metal collection to ogg, and it sits snugly in bwzm.wz in my maps directory.
