This would be a good candidate for the snap edge channel.
I installed wz using the edge channel expecting a beta or pre-release version but upon inspection it was the same as the stable channel.

What do you think of this?

The snap channels are currently operated by Snapcrafters. At some point (probably after the 3.3.0 release), we'll look into upstreaming their configuration and augmenting it with development builds as the "edge" channel.
