Multiple Command Centers
Had an idea about removing the limit of one Command Center per player. Why? Why would you need more than one design/radar building? What if each additional CC reduces the cost/time of buildings/units/research by something small, like two percent? Not so that having fifty-one CCs makes everything free/instant. Have the two percent be taken off current prices/times, not max prices/times. This way each CC adds just a bit less than the last one you made. These reductions wouldn't apply to Command Center prices or production times.

Re: Multiple Command Centers
I can see a command relay center effecting how much delay there is between player orders and execution of those orders - but thats what commanders are for - to act responsibly while not being given orders - and truth is they will be acting without your orders either way and 'responsibility' is something that the player is depended upon.
I see no harm in more command centers though - a bit like having too many power stations.

I was thinking more along the lines of building them away from your base, like to block off choke points or streamline your opponent through a valley. Still wanna keep at least one in your base so you don't lose your radar while they're advancing on you.

that said, I think a building whose sole purpose is to provide the "map radar" might not be a bad idea. In the case that your opponent goes nuts and targets straight for your command center, you'd still have the mapview while you are busy rebuilding your CC to redesign something to stop him from doing it again .
A true backup, if you will.
Re: Multiple Command Centers
Making you lose the minimap radar when the HQ goes boom is probably a bad idea anyhow. But why else keep the HQ around? Although granted, it does look nice.
Re: Multiple Command Centers
a command center is just that, a center to give out commands. just like in real war and conflict, there needs to be a place where everything starts, commands, research, and the like. with out it there is no real chain of command. this game wasmeant to be as real as possible, and the CC is helping to keep it real.
