maps are more than just land masses
maps are more than just land masses
Just a comment.
I have been trying a few maps and I noticed some of them don't have any structures or walls available when you start with advanced bases.
All maps should have the requirements that they should only be in the addon area when they are fully done, just like all the maps that were made from pumpkin.

Re: maps are more than just land masses
I would like to create some maps, but as for now the MAC version of the map editor is pretty much garbage, or unusable to anyone who is not a computer genius.
My multiplayer name is Verin

Hey, we actually agree on something!
Now make it a requirement before people can submit "finished" maps.
I didn't think it was finished yet, and only the main interface was working ?Verin wrote:I would like to create some maps, but as for now the MAC version of the map editor is pretty much garbage, or unusable to anyone who is not a computer genius.

We've agreed on plenty. You have bad memory.Crymson wrote:Hey, we actually agree on something!
Not a bad idea, but it'd preclude pretty much every map in existence, besides like River, Pyramidal, and Startup2.Crymson wrote:Now make it a requirement before people can submit "finished" maps.
Re: maps are more than just land masses
I regard a map with a HQ and two trucks as finished. But I like a game to be long and slow...Crymson wrote::

Btw, when will River_v2e and River_v2h get approved?Zarel wrote: Not a bad idea, but it'd preclude pretty much every map in existence, besides like River, Pyramidal, and Startup2.
Re: maps are more than just land masses
I'm still not sure if they'll ever be. Having multiple maps with the only difference being the amount of oil is a bad thing. The new power settings in 3.0 should render that obsolete.Fingolfin wrote:Btw, when will River_v2e and River_v2h get approved?
Re: maps are more than just land masses
The amount of oil isn't the only difference.
River_v2e and River_v2h have both changes in terrain, a completely different placement of features and different scavenger and player bases.

Re: maps are more than just land masses
I don't think it's a good idea to release minor variations on the same map, though. It kind of spams up the addons page. If you think they're different enough, try giving them different names?Fingolfin wrote:The amount of oil isn't the only difference.

Re: maps are more than just land masses
Second that! Too much similarity in the maps is not good for MP games. When new players get into MP and they get 3 times the same map after each other with only slight changes, could make them go away again...Zarel wrote:I don't think it's a good idea to release minor variations on the same map, though. Re: maps are more than just land masses
i think that they should make a world map where u can join at any time and start ur base with 4 oil dericks like an actual real time game running all of the time on a big globe
