is there a map editor for OSX 10.6?

Post by yamar »

I am wondering if there is a map editor compatible with mac 10.6? my friends and I want to build a fairly simple 8 player map, but are unable to figure out a way to do this on our macs. The editor does not need to support complex angles, just the ability to place flat tiles, unclimbable tiles, ramps, adjust elevation, and oil resources. Is there such an editor out there?

Thank you, Yamar

The map editor was never converted it still uses directX so that means windows only.
This is a waste of space. Something important should be here.

I'm the Mac packager. And I use a Mac (sometimes; I also use Windows and Linux, and for development, I prefer whichever has the largest screen, which is not the Mac since that's a laptop). There's a difference.

I don't consider myself a Mac developer. Go bug EvilGuru. <_<

Use WINE or Darwine, assuming you have an intel mac.
I also needed to install the original warzone (1.00, from my CD, so I could select the right data file for the program to use, there may be other ways to get around this), and the original editworld (not the 32 bit version).
I'm sure you could configure WINE to get the 32 bit version to work, but with my knowledge and skills, it was not worth the effort to me.

I got the 16 bit editor working, and the maps it makes are in a format not compatible with warzone version 2.X
the .lnd files are still compatible, so just find someone with a PC you can email your creation to, and they can do the conversion and mail it back.

I also didn't get the 3-d view to work, but it might be possible to get that to work too...
No easy way to do it, and even when you get it running, functionality is not 100%, but you can make wz maps on a mac.
