I finally finished my base structure texture mod.
The concrete texture is copied from a wall texture someone made, I forget who. who ever you are please post so I can credit you properly
please post any comments or suggestions you may have on how to make this better.

that's because warzone screen shots are way to dark on my computer so i lighten them before posting and i accidentally overdid this one and was to lazy to corect it.
Unless you mean the red stripes, if people don't like them I can tone them down.
In general, if you see glowing, pulsating things in the game, you should click on them.

That's good craftsmanship, Milo. :)

I believe that is the texture AnDyRyuuJin used in his new walls here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3308&p=32467#p32467

The texture is masonry work and I find it most appealing when it is weathered non-uniformly, muted in its gamma granularity and has an overall geometry that is etched by contrasting perspective angles like the shot below of a favorite spot of mine in Northern California south of Carmel By The Sea, & on the way to Big Sur. It's called Bixby Bridge and was built in the 1930's; a marvel of the masonry craft and the textures are so doggone interesting even as they are muted. "Bright", un-weathered, masonry with a patina or sheen just seems oddly unappealing to me which is a purely subjective perception like taste itself in any area.

myself i like it i wonder if you could upgrade the scavenger building textures as they seem not to have changed from the same form they used to.

the buildings look all a bit too grey for me, maybe its realistic but it makes it looking sad on the screenshot, not my taste. Maybe i would prefer the military color, you know the green and brown mix or something else ^^

It is a good beginning. The colours need to be crisper and show more contrast.

The new textures may or may not be better, but I think most importantly the colors are a bit off. I liked the original colors better.

Thanks for posting that. The bridge looks interesting I'll do a test to see if I can make a texture like that or find one similar that looks good in-game.

I'll also look into making the textures colored more like the original.

where are all the people complaining that the HQ windows look sick? :-S

Thanks to every one who posted a complaint, you wont all be satisfied but its hard to fix a texture when you're not sure what every one wants. :D

ps. I am amazed at the amount of feed back, are people that interested in new base textures?

In the long run I don't, personally, see a point in making new base structure textures, or new base strcuture models as elio has steadily been doing them. But new textures and models are still good for mods.

This mod is not for the long run, it is a stop-gap for until we get the new buildings.



Here is version 1.2.
The wall texture used is a modified version of the HQ base texture. I basically just copy and pasted sections of the original texture (to cover the red marks) and then tiled the result.
