Could anyone please help an old timer who need a new start?

Post by BRAVO36 »

Hi All,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Long story short, I've been playing WZ since the beginning and still have my original CDs. For the last several years, I've been playing ver. 3.2.3 on my vintage 2015 machine. Lost everything due to data corruption, and have just completed a new up to date pc and need to start WZ from scratch. Love the ability to keep the game relevant and download new maps and mods, but everything looks a bit different now. Maybe because I'm a lot older now. I could use a few pointers on where to start and get the easiest version to, like I mentioned above, download new content to, mostly maps. I always play single player and love the Skirmish maps to pass a bit of time, and I'd itching to get back in. ANY assistance greatly appreciated gents! I'm on my way to the donation page cause apparently, I'm way behind. Thanks for everyone's hard and ceaseless efforts to keep this game real!

I'd prefer a pm if possible.

Many thanks in advance!

You can find tons of maps on Prot's map database: https://wz2100.euphobos.ru/maps/
As well as ones hosted here (filter for maps): https://addons.wz2100.net/
The latest version of the game can be found at: https://wz2100.net/ The little down arrow on the download link button links to all downloads if you want to check that out.

You can easily find your configuration directory by clicking a small yellow link in the Options part of the Main Menu. Then put your maps in the maps folder in the window that pops up.

Thanks BC. Hopefully that will get me up and running. Should be 100% finished with the new rig by this weekend.

I seriously appreciate your assistance!
