Reliable way of getting high quality videos?

Post by lowededwookie »

Is there a reliable way of getting the high quality video sequences for Mac?

I try to download but it takes 5 hours and ends up only downloading 300MB or so of the file. I've never yet had a proper download of the file.

I'm using Safari as my only browser so would FireFox do a better job? Has anyone on the Mac managed to download this file properly?

I have no problem with the low res file just the high res one.

I know it's not my internet connection being the reason for slowness because I can download the 1GB XCode package from Apple in less than an hour so I'm picking the Warzone site is taking a major hit with others downloading this file but the time to download isn't the issue it's the missing 200+MB that is. Would slow connections cause this?

Which mirror you trying?
http://download.gna.org/warzone/videos/ ... i-2.2-1.wz
or
http://www.il.fontys.nl/~giel/warzone/v ... quences.wz ?

They both work fine for me. If you get the first one do not forget to rename it.
This is a waste of space. Something important should be here.

I used the first one on the downloads page.

I'm just trying to download using FireFox to see if it works.

If not I'll try the other link you gave.

I'll let you know.

Thanks for your reply.

I believe Opera can resume failed downloads. I have no idea why other browsers' download managers don't do that.
