Bug, error, crappy drivers. To report or not to report.

So, here's the deal. I was playing Warzone 2100 2.2.1, happy because the random CTD's from 2.1 were gone and what happens?

Yup. CTD. so i try again, and again it crashes. In the same place. Now i thought this was weird. so I went to stderr.txt...

My crappy graphics driver is a... guess... intel 82865G. Strange thing is: It works fine in 2.2, but this error, and reading stderr... was it from the graphics card or this time, the computer is innocent?

It crashes in Alpha... err... 9? the mission where you get the Synaptic Link, I guess. It crashes after the transport launches, i guess it is the time where the map changes.

So... Do I need to report this or it is not a bug, only clumsiness from the part of the player?

Hmmm... Tried a clean install. Nothing.

I wonder what causes those errors? Missing files?

Upload the crash report? It's a warzone2100.RPT file in Program Files/Warzone 2100/.

...this is why phpBB needs form responses. It's like the sixth time I've typed that.

Just noticed something. The crash does not generate an entry in the RPT file. the only hint it gives is the stderr file that is on the first post. Tried with 2.2.0 and got the same problem as well.

got random crash during game, posted in a other thread but no answer so far
