Can't load savegame in ubuntu gutsy

Hi all!

I'm new here, but played warzone 2100 before on ubuntu feisty, I love the game! I did a fresh install of Gutsy (RC), installed wz2100 yesterday, after the first transport mission I saved and quit the game. When I wanted to load my previously saved game, it quits and gives me a segmentation fault, core dumped. I think it is the same problem this guy has:

My videocard is an ati radeon mobility 9200, dunno if it's related.

I have a similar loading problem. Few differences, most of the time i can load a game that was saved at the end of the mission. I can never load a game that was saved during a mission or skirmish. I am on a Mac (OS 10.4.9), GeForce 8600M GT graphics card. For me it does not give a problem, just quits.

Well, I don't know whether it's related either. For that I'd need to know what version of Warzone you're using. Is it the warzone2100 package in the Ubuntu repositories ? Is it one of the Debian/Ubuntu packages we provide here for download ? Does starting warzone with the "--nosound" parameter help ?

The version I'm using is "warzone2100 2.1.0~0.svn1436-1", the default version in the Gutsy repositories, but i've tried with 2.0.7 also, no luck... Didn't try SVN though... The "--nosound" doesn't help. I'm not on my own pc now, but I'll upload the logfile as soon as possible.

Instead of the gutsy package i've tried to compile the latest snapshot (with quesoglc-0.6.5) and got:

Just tried the game and was hooked for hours. Good game!

I've got the same problem as the others here though. I can't load any saved games.

The output I get in the console:

OS: Gutsy
game version was installed from ubuntu repo (through the add/remove option).

Amazing game. Shame I needed to restart everything everytime.

Hello,

  I have this problem also.  The game worked well under Ubuntu Fiesty, but after the upgrade to Gutsy saved games no longer load.  It seems that several other people have this issue as well:

The version that's installed through synaptic is:
$ dpkg -l | grep warzone

which (according to the binary) is:

I also get this crash (and other assorted freezes) with version 2.0.8 (downloaded from the frontpage):

All I know, it is a known issue, no fix yet.

All the games loading/saving is done by physfs.

I don't know how to find the version difference of physfs between Fiesty & Gutsy, but perhaps one of you know?

Maybe the bug is there someplace.
The saving/loading seems to work OK in other distros.
