What's the largest map size (in tiles)?

Actually, the largest map size is 256*256 currently. For some reason, when creating maps, editworld was limited to 250x250. One of the gamma campaign maps has a height of 256 tiles for example.

I dont know if there is any maps larger then 250 so I answered the actual question not the assigned map limit.

On my wish list is to have huge maps of over 256 X 256 tiles..

The map size limit is the same on 3.1 branch.

And my experiments with changing the maximum map size caused issues with the unit pathing routines taking up WAY too much processing power.. aka it lagged, badly.

So while it's possible, the pathing stuff was a problem I couldn't really fix but I suspect that it's something in the libraries.
