I've been thinking now and is it going to be easy for people to see that it is a firetruck without the ladders on top or with something different on the top than the actual model?

I thing yes. It's a big red truck with flashlights on top. What else should it be? As far as weapon mounts go, I opt to place it on the cabin. Makes much more sense, especially for the flamer. You don't want a muzzle dripping burning napalm somewhere near the center of your vehicle. Also, the cabin easily offers space for a gun mount while the equipment and pump compartment in the back would require many structural alterations to place a weapon there.

I think that's not possible, but the firetruck should work like this:
- All small to "small-medium" turrets should be mounted on-top of the cabin.
- All "big-medium" to big turrets should be placed on the... Well you know what it is. (Don't know the word for it)
This way, the firetruck would be prettier and make more sense when it comes to place like the guy above said, the flamers.
But the game shouldn't go all way with realism, but actually that thing is kinda stinging an eye.
I have changed this signature because a developer thinks it's offensive.

I ended up doing a small mount on top of it. I was thinking about putting it on top of the cabin, but I wanted to stay true to the original. I've always thought of it as a repurposed water cannon, filling the watertanks of the truck with gas/napalm.
@Jabol: that would require changing the source code and stuff.
What do you guys think?

Just a friendly suggestion: Many of the original image links seem to be broken, and some people (like me) might be too lazy to hunt through the thread for updates/new images - would you mind editing the original post with updates? :)

@Chojun: The oldest pictures are mostly prototype stuff that isn't used ingame.
@MaNGusT: I could make them transparent with an interior, too, but would that look any better?

I think leave them as they are now. at far zoom blue windows will look as they reflect the sky. :-)

Agreed - after 13 years of wear & tear (wz2100 is 13-years post-apocalypse) I wouldn't expect ANYTHING in the game to be shiny and new. Especially ANYTHING that is being used by a scavenger/barbarian.

I suggest a few welded on panels, like a 40k Ork Trukk or Battlewagon.

Added some extra armour plates riveted onto the cabin and a lot of rust.
Btw, those are some seriously good ork wagons :)
Compare with the previous image to see the diference.
