Re: Structure Improvement

New graphic technologies are the only thing that would be a reason to start work again, anything else is senseless in my eyes. Besides the fact that I love Warzone 2100 since 1999, I would rather see more efforts for the techniques MaNGusT mentioned above than "new buildings", "new units" or other major changes which don't honor the original game.

Needless to say but I'm watching the board in the future.

In the meantime, I'm always busy.

I don't think that "H" should be bump mapped, it should be flat.

I agree, but since it looks great, perhaps the detail could be baked in.

It's just a subtle bump, though, so it might be a realistic simulation of the layer of paint upon the concrete imo :)

I know it does not fit right now, but the building isn't finished yet.

Really nice :)
By the way, are you into object space normal maps at all or do you also require tangent space?
(not that I would stop trying to implement tangent space, we need it anyway, it's just not currently working :( )

In 3ds Max object space normal maps are called Local XY.

I know, but it's the output of the 3ds max.

By the way, here's my highpoly mesh.

I'm currently aiming for a 256 px texture size per square tile, means a 3x3 square base plate has 768x768 px.

ah.. parallax mapping(or even displacement mapping) could improve your models so much..
btw very very good. :)

agree but I suggest you to have backup of your textures in max size(for me 2048x2048). may be in a future we will require doubled texture resolution for "ultra" quality settings. :)
