Plasma Mortars

What about a replacement for the Bombarment Mortor (After Researcher Pepperpot): Replace it with a Plasma Mortor

it should have a similar use like the Wraith on Halo :lol2: (I will try to post a picture soon)

There already is a plasma mortar in the game, you might be able to implement what you've proposed by making a mod.

For like the seventeenth time, because they're not balanced.

They're also mess up sync by a ridiculous amount, though that's true to some extent of all artillery.

Too much damage was the biggest issue. I've been considering adding a nerfed version to the tech tree for a long time.

yeah would be a good plan, i think maybe the range should be killed a little too, played an mp map with preplaced plasma mortars and until end game you just couldn't touch them.

I don't think range should be changed. It already is short ranged compared to other arty... I was thinking about it having no initial damage, but only having splash damage... And a bad accuracy.

No. Accuracy adjustments don't work with artillery, especially artillery intended to hit mobile units. Low accuracy is just annoying to people, it's better to turn down damage instead.

Im sick of my own howitzers hitting my structures before accuracy upgrades.

I think the whole idea should just be left, artillery is strong enough -and annoying- as is.

Yeah... I am glad for the upgrade in 3.0 to no overkill.

actually, and this will get some horrid feed back, but has anyone attacked a base with artillery with low accuracy? the spread doesnt take out buildings as fast, but knowing that its not focussed and will spray around to hit other buildings/units is a fun tactic
