Re: Underground Hangar/Rearming Pad for VTOLS
Again that would be a hell of a lot of work, and a lot of things would need to be changed. It's good though to see some ideas coming forward. The current system is okay, but it is time consuming laying down a lot of VOTL pads individually. Maybe instead of changing the current rearming pad idea, it would be better to look at different ways of building them, or multiple pads at once.

No I did not forget that base pie file it is part of the structure (model) it has nothing to do with terrain tiles.MetalWarrior95 wrote: Berg wrote:You do realise that to make the game add underground structures that you can see into will need map terrain tiles changed to alpha then back again when structure is destroyed.
Im not sure if they will end up as black or white tiles instead of alpha either.
Regards Berg
Did you forgot when we make buildings that there is like a tile that is covering the map tiles, like vehicle factory, command center, command relay,etc...buildings!
Did you forget that?
Re: Underground Hangar/Rearming Pad for VTOLS
I think what Berg is trying to say is that when an underground hangar gets destroyed, it will look awkward if the tiles are returned to the original look of the map.. I think he has a valid point MW95...MetalWarrior95 wrote:Did you forgot when we make buildings that there is like a tile that is covering the map tiles, like vehicle factory, command center, command relay,etc...buildings!Berg wrote:You do realise that to make the game add underground structures that you can see into will need map terrain tiles changed to alpha then back again when structure is destroyed.

No I am not saying that at all.j0shdrunk0nwar wrote:I think what Berg is trying to say is that when an underground hangar gets destroyed, it will look awkward if the tiles are returned to the original look of the map.. I think he has a valid point MW95...
1) structures or models made new can have or not have a base plate. Its entirely open as it is new and can be made what every way is needed.
2) terrain textures come in 3 flavours firstly you would have to code in that a new underground structure is over this set of tiles then the code would have to change the tile to alpha being that three sets of tiles are available each set needs a new tile at exactly the same position in each set, then when the structure is destroyed the original tiles have to be replaced by the code again.
Hope thats clear

On a side note hope the underground vtol re-arming pad is not below sea level or your vtols will drown.

Which reminds me, are there any human elements in the game design or are all units droids? I'm not talking about scavengers... Because I seem to remember someone say in the forum that they are all droids, but VTOLs seem to respond with human voices, right?

Agreed, and I guess that's exactly what's happening in the artwork sectionChristheturtle wrote:Again that would be a hell of a lot of work, and a lot of things would need to be changed.
