New Fortresses

I was thinking of two new fortresses

Machine Fortress: Uses advanced Assult Gun technology

Laser Fortress: Uses advanced Laser technology


Probably a larger size Plasma Cannon on the Laser Fortress, or Pulse Laser

Any thoughts?

Would be interesting. It's kind of annoying that all current fortresses are AT/AR.

I don't think the laser fortress should be a large plasma cannon, though. Plasma cannons aren't real lasers, plus, they're AR. And they're short range, which makes them really useless on a fortress - who would ever get within range in the first place?

Rockets and missiles are AT (anti-tank), they do high damage to tanks.
Cannons and rails are AR (all-rounder), they do high damage to tanks and buildings.
Machineguns and lasers are AP (anti-personnel), they do high damage to cyborgs and aircraft.

This topic actually meshes well with the "New AA gun" topic. Why not make the new AA gun a fortress? New fortress and New AA gun. Simple enough.

I actually meant that if the new AA gun was implemented, it should be implemented as both simultaneously.

fortresses realy finished the game! how about designable fortresses? like you can choose if they need range or damage

(+ why does ai only build 1 of a kind? )

Because fortresses have type "DOOR".
Since they are 2x2, they can't fit into gateways.
So they are built as base structures.

It would be good if AI would build at least 2 of a kind...

yeah, or 5 of cannon , 3 rocketn 5 mass driver and 3 long ranged rockets =/
